Overview of the TerraXAI Wildfire Risk Platform
This video presents TerraXAI’s wildfire risk intelligence platform and demonstrates how it supports wildfire preparedness and response through localized, transparent analysis. The system integrates near-real-time satellite imagery with weather, vegetation, and topographic data to generate wildfire risk maps at a 10-metre spatial resolution. This level of detail allows users to observe fine-scale variations in wildfire danger across a selected region and date, providing insight that is often unavailable in traditional, coarse-resolution wildfire danger products.
High-Resolution Risk Mapping and Fire Behavior Insights
In addition to identifying areas of elevated wildfire risk, the platform enables users to examine how a wildfire may behave once ignited by offering additional analysis layers such as predicted rate of fire spread. These layers help illustrate how terrain, slope, and environmental conditions influence fire behavior, highlighting locations where a wildfire could propagate more rapidly and where heightened preparedness or mitigation efforts may be required.
Explainable Risk Assessment Using Spatial AI
A key component of TerraXAI is its use of Spatial AI Agents to interpret each wildfire risk map generated by the system. These agents analyze local conditions including fuel load, vegetation stress, slope, wind direction, humidity, and lightning potential, and explain how each factor contributes to the overall risk assessment for specific locations. Users can interact with the system by asking questions about what is driving risk on a given day or how conditions have changed over time, with responses provided in clear, operational language rather than technical model outputs.
Daily Reporting for Operational Decision Support
The platform also produces concise daily wildfire risk reports that summarize key risk drivers, highlight changes from morning to evening, and identify emerging localized concerns. These reports are designed to support practical decision-making for a range of operational users, including park staff, municipal response teams, utilities, and infrastructure operators. By combining high-resolution data with explainable artificial intelligence, TerraXAI offers a transparent and practical approach to understanding evolving wildfire risk and supporting informed decisions in dynamic wildfire environments.
